Optical Fibre OPGW (Overhead Protective Ground Wire) and ADSS (Aerial Dielectric Support System) Consultancy Contract for the Oyu Tolgoi Project's Site Wide Optical Fibre ICT (Information Communication Technology) Backbone Infrastructure:

  • Assisting the PMC (Project Management Centre) and their Subcontractors with Site-wide design review and recommendation, industry best practice guidelines, manuals and training for the cable, line fitting and termination enclosure selection, line stringing installation, optical fibre termination, testing and commissioning to Australian and International Standards
  • Assisted the PMC and their Subcontractors with the QA/QC (Quality Assurance / Quality Control) commissioning and handover of the Optical Fibre ICT Backbone Infrastructure to Rio Tinto Operations, Certifying the installation to 'Carrier Grade' Australian and Rio Tinto Standard Specifications (higher than International Standards for adequate 10Gig backbone reliability over long haul distances)
  • Specialised design review and recommendation was also provided for the High Voltage Electrical Earthing System across the 6.3kV, 35kV and 220kV Transmission Line Infrastructure, in particularly around the complexities associated with the Optical Fibre Infrastructure being part of the High Voltage OPGW Electrical Earthing System and High Voltage Corridors
  • High level Project Management reports and published documents were provided and monitored by Project Key Stakeholders on a weekly basis
